Monday.com Joins Wave of 20 Tech Companies Cutting Staff Over AI
Monday.com has become the latest technology company to cite artificial intelligence as a primary factor in organizational restructuring and job cuts. By announcing plans to lay off about 20% of its workforce, or over 600 employees, the company joins a growing list of tech giants and infrastructure firms—such as Microsoft, Oracle, Google, and Meta—reallocating corporate resources toward AI data centers and intelligent systems. A Financial Times analysis indicates that U.S. tech companies have cut nearly 140,000 positions since early 2026. While some organizations are replacing customer support and administrative roles with AI agents, others are shifting displaced talent directly into newly developed, AI-focused engineering divisions.
