Cybersecurity startup Glow is officially emerging from stealth mode as a newly minted unicorn, betting that artificial intelligence (AI) technology is fundamentally reshaping how enterprises must secure their employees' various endpoints. The Palo Alto-headquartered startup announced on Wednesday that it has raised $180 million in an all-equity Series A funding round, valuing the company at $1.2 billion.
The company's funding round was backed by prominent venture capital firms Sequoia Capital, Cyberstarts, Greenoaks, and Redpoint Ventures, alongside participation from additional investors including Index Ventures, Swish Ventures, Lux Capital, Operator Collective, and Holly Ventures. This substantial investment positions Glow as one of the latest cybersecurity companies to achieve a unicorn valuation before publicly disclosing any of its financial revenue metrics.
AI Threats to Enterprise Endpoints
The urgent need to rethink endpoint security comes as more enterprises deploy AI tools, while cyberattackers increasingly leverage generative AI technologies to automate phishing campaigns, develop sophisticated malware, and execute highly targeted cyberattacks. As a result, many companies are re-evaluating how they secure endpoints—ranging from employee laptops to servers and other connected devices.
These information security concerns have intensified particularly since Anthropic unveiled its advanced AI model, Mythos AI. According to Anthropic's official statement, the model demonstrated highly advanced capabilities in identifying and exploiting various software vulnerabilities, prompting a broader global debate regarding the inherent threats posed by AI-assisted cyberattacks.
Glow is betting that this technological shift and the resulting complex threats demand an entirely different approach to endpoint security. Founded in 2025, the startup is building an endpoint security platform that helps organizations monitor, manage, and control all software, AI agents, and developer tools running on employee devices. The startup stated that its platform utilizes specialized AI agents to continuously map enterprise environments, assess security risks in real time, and actively enforce security policies.
Glow's Security Platform: Active Prevention and Specialized Agents
"If you think of the past decade, everything was moving to the cloud and SaaS. Suddenly, AI lands on the endpoint in a way we’ve never seen," explained Roi Tiger, co-founder and chief executive officer of the company, in an interview. Tiger, a former vice president of engineering at Meta, co-founded Glow alongside Omer Singer, the former head of cybersecurity strategy at Snowflake; Ophir Arie, former vice president of research and development at Claroty; and Arnon Joseph, a former engineering leader at Meta.
The startup's executive leadership team also includes Chief Operating Officer Emily Heath. Heath previously served as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at United Airlines and DocuSign. Furthermore, she served as a board member at Wiz throughout its $32 billion acquisition process by Google, and was previously a partner at Cyberstarts.
Early Customers and Practical Real-World Success
Even though the company has only just emerged from stealth mode, Glow reports that it already has active paying customers across a variety of sectors and industries, including healthcare, retail, and financial services. However, at this stage, the company declined to disclose the names or the exact number of these customers. The system's typical deployments, as Tiger noted, span tens of thousands of employee devices across various global organizations.
To power its platform, Glow utilizes AI models from Anthropic and Google's Gemini model via Amazon Bedrock, while building its own unique proprietary software designed to enrich these models with specific enterprise context and improve their reliability in executing defense and security tasks, Tiger told TechCrunch.
According to Tiger, the platform has already prevented malicious npm packages—which are third-party software components used to build applications—from being installed within customer environments. It has also identified AI agents attempting to pull in such malicious software and detected employee devices where endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools were missing or operating with reduced functionality.
Competition in the Existing Endpoint Security Market
Glow is entering a highly crowded and competitive endpoint security market, which is currently dominated by industry leaders such as CrowdStrike, Microsoft, SentinelOne, and Palo Alto Networks. Tiger pointed out that existing EDR products focus primarily on detecting threats after they emerge, whereas Glow is designed to prevent risky software, AI agents, and developer tools from entering the enterprise environment in the first place.
The startup currently employs nearly 100 people, with approximately 70% of them based in Israel and the remainder located in the United States. Whether AI-native security platforms will become a distinct and unique category remains an open question, as organizations are only beginning to grapple with the security implications of increasingly capable artificial intelligence models.
